The Brian Jordan Foundation established BJ's Scholars to help economically challenged youth achieve their dreams through higher education. Scholarships are awarded yearly to some of the countries most gifted students. These students possess leadership skills, academic success and extra curriculum activities.
The criteria used for selecting recipients are as follows:
• A high school senior, accepted to a four year accredited college or university
• A grade point average of 2.75 during junior and senior years
• An essay on why they should become the recipient of the Brian Jordan Scholarship, with a minimum of 250 words
• Three letters of reference, from non-relatives
• Financial information for need determination
Consideration that will aid the decision:
• Leadership skills inside and outside of school
• Academic club(s) membership
• Social, religious organization(s) membership
• Band, sports, etc… (extra curricula activity involvement)
• Job(s) / Work experience
Students must maintain a grade point average of 2.5 and above to remain eligible for the scholarship. Recipients are required to submit official transcripts at the end of every semester.
The selected applicant(s) will be held to a high personal and professional standard.
